The Eruption of Mt. Etna, 27 APR 2013.

This view of the eruption and lava flow, uses my regular lens. At the suggestion of "fellow traveller" Rich, I used a 30 second time exposure. Neat trick without a tripod!
...And the flow flows. Now using a 300mm lens.
Full Zoom.
The substance that looks like ground black pepper on my outdoor furniture is volcanic ash that fell during the eruption.
The next morning, Etna is silent again. Breakfast is over and we return to the black and white world of 1943 as once again we resume our tour of the battlefields of Sicily.
